Back... Home.. Forward... Selecting: Single or non-contiguous files

In order to work with the file manager, one must select files to work with. the selection will become highlighted, which is a signal that it is going to be included in whatever action you may choose to do thereafter.

Let's start of simply, selecting a single file and seeing what we can do with it:

Selecting a file:

To select a file, just click once on it. See how it becomes highlighted?

Now, r_click on the highlighted file:

You could also go up to the standard tool bar and choose "edit" if you would rather.

Actually, if selecting a single file, one can just r-click on it, skipping the first click to select it (it will auto-select on r-click).

Selecting multiple files:

But what if you would like to select more than one file or folder at a time?
Well that is pretty easy. Just hold down the CTRL key as you click on each of the files.
