Back... Home.. Forward... Clean and Scan Malwarebytes - Notes on Use

Notes:

Cookies are not a big problem. If you have already used CCleaner before this session, there should be no cookies to worry about.

Malwarebytes may require a reboot for some infections - If so, follow the dialog instructions, and allow reboot.

Reoccuring problems:
A reoccuring problem (that is not a cookie) has the potential of being a big problem. Try running Malwarebytes from safe mode. if that doesn't fix it, please call for consultation.

Interference from Antivirus:
As files are scanned, if viruses are present, your anti-virus product may pop up as Malwarebytes is scanning. It detects the access to a viral file by Malwarebytes. If this occurs, it is best to cancel the anti-virus notice, cancel your Malwarebytes scan, and update and run your Anti-virus product before attempting further spyware removal.

Comments:
Malwarebytes has replaced Lavasoft Adaware in my recommended list. I believe it to be the anti-malware scanner to rely upon.

Malwarebytes is free as a manual scanner, but if you'd like to support these folks, they do offer a paid version with real-time capabilities.
