Anti-virus Kit

NEW BUGKIT (Ver 1) Coming Soon!
ABOUT BUGKIT:
DOWNLOAD
BUGKIT
BUGKIT is an emergency virus
rescue tool designed to be used by novice and expert alike.
It's main function is to download and update several virus cleaning
applications. The following applications are supported:
AVAST Cleaner
AVERT Stinger
F-Protect DOS (with special support for FPCMD if available)
KAV (includes DOS and ESCAN Windows components)
McAfee (DOS and Windows cmdline scanners)
Trend Sysclean
Once installed, BUGKIT can do some pretty cool things:
- Any application can be blocked, whereupon it
will be
ignored in both the "update" and "run" phases.
- A Windows task can be set up to allow BUGKIT to
update
virus defs daily using the provided "BUGKIT Auto update" link.
- Reports are collected (optional) and appended
(optional) to
a central location (C:\BUGREPORT by default) for easy perusal, and will
be saved even if BUGKIT is removed.
- Uninstallation is as simple as removing the
bugkit
directory.
For advanced users (designed for tech rescue disks), BUGKIT has a few
more tricks:
- BUGKIT can create multiple "installer builds"
to suit
your
rescue disk needs. Installation paths can be altered to fit your
preferences.
- The builds can be updated each time BUGKIT
updates.
- Each build can then update your respective
CDMastering
directories- so every time BUGKIT updates, your CDMaster is too.
BUGKIT is currently in BETA. It seems to work fine, but has not been
extensively tested in all environments. Use at your own risk. There is
no guarantee whatsoever.
Your feedback (good and bad) is very welcome- including wishlist stuff
and any known errors.
While perfectly functional, I have several more ideas to implement,
mostly revolving around updating BUGKIT itself automatically- If update
urls change or if BUGKIT grows a new feature, BUGKIT will be able to
take advantage of the internet to correct it's problems and add new
things.
It is still a little clunky too- alot of hard coding that I would
rather have made differently. The next generation will be written
differently- And once I have your feedback, and if BUGKIT is useful
enough to be popular, the next generation will begin!
